We at Orthodontic Update are extremely fortunate in both the quality and number of the articles submitted for publication in the Journal – so much so that it is often possible to 'theme' specific editions.

This we have done with the April journal; within these pages there are two major pieces relating to the hugely important subject of Anchorage in Orthodontics – one is a comprehensive overview of the subject from the Bristol group, led on this occasion by Hywel Naish from the Naish orthodontic dynasty, the other is the second and concluding part of Richard Cousley's excellent and very well received series on the use of Mini–implants in Orthodontics – this time majoring on the clinical aspects and optimal biomechanics.

I am certain that these offerings, together with Claire Dunbar and David Slattery's superb update on the re-classification of tooth eruption failure, will form the basis of many a journal club meeting up and down the country! Please enjoy reading and discussing them.
